Haddington is the county town of East Lothian, a market town on the River Tyne about 18 miles east of Edinburgh. It doesn't have a railway station, so getting a group into the city or to the airport means driving, the bus, or booking a minibus to collect everyone.
The town
St Mary's Parish Church on the riverbank is one of the biggest parish churches in Scotland. The old Nungate Bridge crosses the Tyne nearby, and the walk along the river is pleasant on a fine day. John Knox, the leader of the Scottish Reformation, is said to have been born in the Giffordgate area of town.

Trains and timings
The nearest stations are at Drem and Longniddry, and we can pick up from either if some of your group arrive by train. Edinburgh city centre is about 30 to 35 minutes by road, and the airport about 40 minutes using the A1 and the bypass.
