Dunfermline and West Fife
Dunfermline became a city in 2022, and it's Scotland's ancient capital. The Abbey is where Robert the Bruce is buried, and the ruined palace next door was a royal home. It's also just across the Forth from Edinburgh. With the Queensferry Crossing, Edinburgh Airport is usually around 25 minutes away, which makes it a common pick-up point for us.

Things to see in the city
Pittencrieff Park, known locally as the Glen, sits next to the Abbey and has peacocks, gardens and plenty of space. Andrew Carnegie was born in Dunfermline, and his birthplace cottage is now a museum. The Carnegie Library and Galleries, the first Carnegie library in the world, is also well worth a visit.
