Broxburn, Uphall and the airport on your doorstep
Broxburn is one of those places where the airport is so close you can watch the planes taking off. That makes it a favourite pick-up point for us. A group of eight can be at departures in around fifteen minutes on a normal day, and nobody has to leave a car in a long-stay car park for a week.

Things to do nearby
The Union Canal runs through the middle of Broxburn and the towpath is flat and easy, good for a gentle group walk. The pink shale bings on the edge of town are left over from the oil-shale industry that built much of the area, and Niddry Castle near Winchburgh is a short hop if anyone's into old tower houses.
